A New Signal Arrives!

Historical Drama set to come

summer 2022, depicts rural life

after the war

Alexandra Ciudin’s directorial debut ‘A Home Past the Meadow’ shows the coming-of-age tale of an orphan trying to find his family in 1950’s Britain.

Set in post war Britain, the film tells the story of William, an orphan boy who is struggling to save enough money and find his long lost parents before he is drafted into the military. As the film plays out, William forms an unlikely bond with a reclusive old man named Richard. Richard offers William an opportunity to achieve his goal by undergoing various chores around his remote country cottage.

“I always felt passionate about exploring the present. Some of my recent work focuses on people and places, and I found the coutryside to be perfect for developing this story that I’ve been meaning to tell for some time - bonds formed in unfortunate times, bonds that complete gaps and a hopeful note that with all the misfortune in the world caused by wars and damaged systems, people still find a way to help each other.” - Alexandra Ciudin

‘A Home Past the Meadow’ will illustrate a cohesive character piece that expresses a feeling of loss and responsibility. The production team hopes to reflect a realistic perspective of Post-war Britain and the relationships between the people that experienced its difficulties daily. The film will be character driven and atmospheric for the time, by having a lot of production design elements. For example, a collection of maps in the background of the cottage, to show that Richard is a cartographer.

The film is set to run for festivals next year, both in UK and abroad. Its distribution will commence shortly after, including international release.

The film will be recorded on location in Devon, in a cottage and surrounding villages.

The production of the film will start on 25th Feburary 2022, with the film expected to be released in summer 2022.
